Barbara Jean Davis

On December 4, 1947, a small but grand town of Larue, Texas Barbara Jean Hambrick Davis, affectionately known as ‘Bobbie Jean’ graced the world to the proud parents Champion and Erma Jean Brown Hambrick. She is the oldest out of 8 children.

She grew up in Henderson County where she attended Central High School. Bobbie was introduced to her faith through the leadership of Lonestar Baptist Church.

Later in her life she moved to Dallas, Texas where she worked for Goodman Paper company. One day Bobbie decides to transition back home where she loved taking care of others, especially in her long and fulfilling career in healthcare. She dedicated herself to helping those in need by working at Chandler nursing Home and then retiring from Green Oaks in Athens, Texas.

She was unapologetically outspoken, feisty but fearless, never afraid to say exactly what was on her mind. Whether she was praising an idea or criticizing a decision, she spoke with confidence and conviction. Her directness could be refreshing to some and intimidating to others, but no one was ever left wondering where she stood. She valued honesty over diplomacy and wasn’t easily silenced by disagreement or pressure.

She loved her Scratch Off and if you are in the car with her, you had better get ready to stop at the corner store so she can pick her some out before taking her home and we can’t forget her playing cards on Friday night with neighbors. She was a woman of many words, and everyone love her for that. Lord, we can’t forget how she looks forward to going to Tyler on Saturday morning to go to Ross to shop and if she had a hair appointment she is walking out of there with her favorite blond (613) in her hair if you know you know that was her color.

Barbara loved her family so much, especially her children and her grandchildren; great grandchildren and especially her new great great grandbaby who was looking forward to her first birthday. They were her life. She loved each and every one of them in her own special way. She will be missed dearly by them, especially those late-night phone calls with the TV sky high in the background where you can barely hear her sometime and she would say you sleep huh yeah…lol

Barbara transitioned to eternal rest on June 15, 2026, upon her arrival she was welcome to heaven by her loved ones: husband Freddie Davis., and her beloved parents Champion and Erma Hambriick, 4 sisters: Daisy Warren, Patricia Woods; Christine McKenzie and Alfreida Johnson, and 2 brothers: Vertis and Charles Hambrick. Barbara will be missed but fondly remembered. Her legacy continues through her three beloved Children: Sandy Love (Gene) of Ben Wheelers Tx , ,Millissa Beasley (Earnest), Tyler Texas, and Anthony Beasley (Hilery) of Red Oak, Texas. She is also survived by her brother, Alphonso Hambrick of Tyler, Texas. Barbara’s legacy will live on in the hearts of her 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild, also left to cherish and adore her memories are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and special friends.

 The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to two very special individuals, Danielle Chancellor and Tracy Johnson, who have supported Bobbie Jean throughout this past year. Your kindness, dedication, and unwavering presence meant more to her than words can express. Even though Bobbie Jean was a tough cookie at times, she loved you both dearly and deeply appreciated all that you did for her. Thank you for your compassion, friendship, and care.

As we celebrate Barbara’s life, we are grateful for the memories she has left behind and the light she brought into the world. Her presence is felt deeply in all of us, a reminder of her indelible mark on our hearts. Thank you to everyone who has walked alongside our family during this time.
