Bobbie Ruth Johnson was born on July 18, 1948, in Pittsburg, Texas. She was the youngest child of Leroy and Jestina Roberson. Bobbie Ruth graduated from JJ Rhoades High School and went on to East Texas State University, where she earned her bachelor's degree. During her time in college, she became a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
Bobbie Ruth dedicated her career to education, serving as a teacher and librarian at Daingerfield Junior High School until her retirement. She was also a lifelong member of Wallick Chapel Christian Church, where she actively participated in church activities and sang in the choir until she was called home.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Jestina Roberson, as well as her son, Jimmy Thrower.
Bobbie Ruth is survived by her loving husband, Galend Johnson, with whom she shared 44 wonderful years. She is also survived by her daughters, Kisha (Jamie) and Charlene (Jimmy), and her cherished brother, Charles Randolph Roberson. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Chasady, Jaquavius, Devon, Maximillian, and Barrington, as well as her great-grandchildren, Myles and Ziya. Additionally, she leaves behind a host of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
