The Homegoing celebration for Callen Ann Key-Henson

Callen Ann Key-Henson was born on October 6, 1950, in Longview, Texas to the late Charlie Mae Key-Johnson and Larsol Jackson.  She passed away peacefully at home on January 19, 2024, after a very sudden decline in her health. Callen was only 73 years of age.

Callen’s spiritual development began at an early age. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and became a member of The Hughes Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Longview, TX. Then later in her adult life she became a member of Miracle Tabernacle Prayer and Praise Cathedral in Longview, TX.

 

Callen attended Sabine Valley School after integration she then attended Pine Tree School.  She was a benevolent and caring person. Her love of people, her generosity and willingness to serve others greatly influenced her decision to pursue a career in Nursing.  She attended Kilgore College School of Nursing and received her nursing certificate.

Callen worked at Cleveland Nursing Home, Steak & Egg, Waffle House, Wyatt’s Cafeteria, Bethel Temple Childcare, and LeTourneau University.

Becoming a mother brought much joy to Callen’s life. She gave birth to 3 children: Tammy Key-Jackson (Deceased), Darrell Bernard Jackson (Deceased) (Alicia “Lisa”) and Stephanie Key-Manns (Joe). She took part in raising: Marchico Johnson, RoShaunda Johnson, Kayla Weatherall (Vincent) , Louis Caraway, Kelsey Walls. 

 

Callen had a love for shopping at Bath and Body Works, Garage and Estate Sales, loved to collect nice items, you name it! Her mother was her road mate! She was a gentle, caring, loving person, and loved to cook and bake, even to invite others to eat.

Leaving to cherish her memories: Grandchildren: Braysheana Key (Chase), Dontarius Key (Shavala) K’Shanti Baugus (Michael), Dalvin Manns (Hannah), Delanta, Chatina, Suzette Farr (Lehbron), Kalvin Roberts Sr., Kevin Dobbins Jr., Darrell Jackson Jr., Diamonte Armstrong Sr. (Christina) LaTerrius, Kim, Tim, Alex, Walter, DeAndre, De’Qunicey, Eric, Malik, Malika, Makel, Malaza, Jasmine & Darrett Jr.

Great-Grandchildren: Vinny, Jeremiah, Bre’Asia, Daisy, Jai’Lynn, Everleigh, Rosaleigh, Baby Manns, Alycia, Skylnn, KaeSyn, Makhi, Chastity, Marshamine, Iria Cato, Vondarryn, LaDarryn, Deh’Anthony, Kylan, Percise, Kaden, Timothy Jr., Ladainian, Dequencie Jr., Brooklyn, Jovanta Louis, Aidyn Paige, Jett, Kyndal, Khloee, Kalvin Jr., Samiya, Elijah, Diamonte Jr., Kayden, Karter, Andrew.

Aunties: Dorothy Davis, Annie Key, Bobbie Lee, Uncle, Willie Key (Deceased).

Sisters: Grace, Bobbie (Deceased), Florene, Lorine (Deceased), Terry. Brothers, Roscoe, Jerry (Deceased), Gregory (Deceased).

Special Son:  Norman Armstrong.

Special Cousin/Niece: Travonda Hopson-Bradley “DeeDee”.

Special Friends: Albert Johnson, Bo, Annette Lowery, Debra Lawson, Earlie Fitts, Marvell Roach, Zephyra Crain, Carolyn Harris, Thurman Adams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
