Mr. Charles Edward Starks was born on August 23, 1945, in Smith County to the late Richard and Veoda Starks.
He graduated from Jackson High School and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree from Tyler Commercial College and later his bookkeeping certificate.
Growing up in the Tyler, Chapel Hill area he became widely known as”Chubby” from an early age. His kind nature and readiness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need made a lasting impression on everyone around him.
He was preceded in death by his son, Darrell Dewayne Starks, as well as his father, Richard Starks Sr., mother, Veoda Starks, sisters Veoda Nickleberry, Corine Kirk, and Inell Starks, and brother Alfred Starks Sr.
He is survived by his devoted sons, Delton Starks, Charles Bryant, and Roderick Dunn, and his devoted daughter, LaDedra Starks. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren: Deon, Rory, Jazmyn, Jaden, Carlos, Bryan, JaShon, and N'Kima. He is also remembered by his loving sisters, Willie Ware, Margie Fields, and Linda Jackson, as well as his brother, Richard Starks Jr., along with a vast network of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends who will cherish his memory.
