Chedric Lamar Hunt was born on February 6, 1972 to Johnny D. Smith and Ivy Jewel Hunt. On July 24, 2024, he peacefully gained his wings at Christus Mother Francis Hospital.
He attended Longview High School and later obtained his diploma. Chedric furthered his education by taking a college course and obtaining his welding license.
At an early age, Chedric accepted Christ as his personal Savior and became a member of Harrison St. Church of Christ. He had a deep faith in God, often speaking about His goodness and how He sustained him through his illness.
Chedric dedicated many years of service to Longview Rail Road and Trinity before eventually moving to Beaumont, TX. He cherished spending time with his family, children, and grandchildren, especially enjoying his famous oatmeal cakes.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Ivy Jewel Hunt, and his father, Johnny D. Smith. Chedric is survived by his two sons, De’cedric Hunt (Triana) and Dequante Hunt, his daughter De’Cedria Hunt, all of Longview, TX, his three sisters Sherry Davis (Gene), Tamesha Hunt Morris (Kevin), and Dametria Hunt Biagas (Chris) of Dallas, TX, his brother Gregory Johnson (Yolita), his two grandchildren Akyriah and Demonei of Longview, TX, special nieces LaDasha Hunt and Ladestiny Hunt, special nephews Quaderion, Latabrion, and Dequaylon of Longview, TX, JaSamuel Broughton of Dallas, TX, a special great aunt Ivy Dixon, a very special cousin Tomorrow Watkins, and a host of cousins, nieces, family, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
