Her Birth and education

Cheryl Ann Gardner was born on October 30, 1961 to the parentage of Leon Lawton and Bernice Banks in Lone Star, Texas. She graduated from Daingerfield, Lone Star ISD in 1980. She was active in band and homemaking. She attended college at Tarrant County Community College in Fort Worth, Texas. She worked at Pilgrims Pride as a food service manager until her health failed.

Her service to the church and community

She was a faithful member of Faith Temple COGIC in Daingerfield. She wore many hats within Texas North East 3rd Jurisdiction. She was an Assistant District Usher President, Hospitality President, Pastor Aid, Choir member and Youth leader. She was known for her beautiful hats and attending church conferences. She was a wonderful cook and caretaker. She was most famous for her cookies and babysitting. She was Aunt Cheryl or Mama Cheryl to most.

Her legacy

She is preceded in death by her grandparents; Solonia and Arthur Everett and Edna and Leon Lawton.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her mother; Bernice Banks of Daingerfield Texas, her father; Leon Lawton (Charlene) of Dallas, Texas, her daughter Ashley Lafayette (Brandon) of Hughes Springs, Texas and son Brandon Gardner of Huntsville, Texas, granddaughter Skyler Gardner brothers; Curtis Wayne Everett (Donna) of Daingerfield Texas, Rodney Arthur (Gloria) of Savannah, Georgia, Derek Lawton of Richardson, Texas, sisters; Makeesha Hayden (John) of Daingerfield, Texas, Lashawnda Banks of Daingerfield, Texas, Niecy Banks (Lelia) of New Jersey, Twilah Pleasant of Carrollton, Texas, Heather Johnson (Christopher) of Forney, Texas, five bonus grandchildren; J.D Black, Sabria Williams, Desmond Williams, Auniree Attaway , and Aiden Peters. Special Girls; Cortina Franklin and Tracy Franklin of Daingerfield, Texas.  She also leaves behind a special host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
