Derrian Marquis Favors

September 19, 1979 ~ July 24, 2023 (age 43) 43 Years Old

Obituary

Derrian Favors known as (Duke Boy), was born on September 19, 1979, to the parentage of Elywin Evans and Yolanda Favors-Simpson in Daingerfield, Texas.
During his early years, he attended New Hope Baptist Church in Daingerfield, TX, and later became a member of Maranatha COGIC in Mount Pleasant, TX, where he
faithfully served until the Lord called him home.

Duke matriculated through the Daingerfield Independent School District and graduated from Daingerfield High School in 1998, where he was well-known for his athletic ability, particularly in football, where he was considered one of the best running backs during his high school years. Aside from football, he was also exceptional in baseball, track and field. Duke was awarded multiple scholarships to various colleges and attended Trinity Valley Community College on a football scholarship in Athens, TX. After
graduating, he continued his academic career at Texas A&M Commerce.

Duke was a person who cherished life and all it had to offer. His friendly and hospitable nature made him well-loved by everyone he came across, and he could easily attract people toward him.
Though Duke's time with us was short, he made a lasting impact on those who knew him. His smile and sense of humor were unforgettable and he made everyone feel like a friend. Duke had a passion for sports, fishing and loved nothing more, than spending time with his family and loved ones barbecuing, playing cornhole, and enjoying their company. He was a dedicated fan of the Dallas Cowboys and supported them wholeheartedly.
