Don Elbert Redic was born on February 21, 1953, to the late LC Redic and Leola Redic in Athens, Texas. He spent his childhood in Athens and graduated from Athens High School as part of the Class of 1972.
Don began his career at Harris Furniture Store and Curtis Mathis, where he worked for several years before becoming self-employed in the trucking industry, until health challenges arose.
Having accepted Christ at a young age, Don found joy in reading his Bible and listening to music. He passed away on September 30, 2024.
He is preceded in death by his parents, LC Redic and Leola Lynch, as well as three brothers: Roylee Redic, James Redic, and Eunior G Redic, and two sisters: Molly T Redic and Mary L Tanner. He also mourned the loss of one grandchild, Kamora Redic, and one great-grandchild, Paisley M Hudson.
Don is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Bettie M Hightower Redic, and children: Stacy Hudson (Frank) of Athens, TX; Royall Bowman (Natalie) of Seagoville, TX; Rocky Thompson of Dallas, TX; Tyrone Redic (Keshia) of Chandler, TX; Evangelist Edwin Redic (Penny "Grandpup") of Moorestation, TX; and Kemeshia Redic of Forney, TX.
He is also remembered by his siblings, Frances Cooper of Dallas, TX, and Charles Redic (Maggie) of Chandler, TX, as well as fifteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will cherish his memory.
