A life filled with love and devotion ended peacefully on July 22, 2018.
Elizabeth Stewart was born on March 9, 1920, in Cason, Texas, to R.T. and Betty Spraglin. She graduated from Carver High School in Naples and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church until her death.
Elizabeth was employed at Hospital in the Pines, the Community Center in Daingerfield Nursing Home.
She was married to Thomas Wesley Rodgers for 38 years, to which six children were born, Mary Ann McGrew, Betty Joyce Mike, Thomas Earl Rodgers, Bennie Calvin Rodgers, Barbara Sue Long, and Joseph Paul Rodgers. She later married Billy Joe Stewart.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Stewart; parents, R.T. and Betty Spraglin; one sister, Allene Lewis; one brother R.T. Spraglin, Jr.; two sons, Thomas Earl and Joseph Paul Rodgers; three grandchildren, Marilyn, Danny, and Sharon Cobbin; and one great-grandson, Marquis Mike.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving children, Mary (Lonnie) McGrew, Betty Mike, both of Dallas, Texas, Benny (Beverly Jo) Rodgers of Pittsburgh, Texas, and Barbara Long of Cason, Texas; brother, Sammy Spraglin; sister, Raynell Rodgers; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; twenty-one great-great-grandchildren; three great-great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
