Ivy Russell Palmer, born November 28, 2002, in McKinney, Texas. A bright little soul, Ivy filled every room with laughter and curiosity; his giggles, playful spirit, and the sparkle in his eyes brought joy and warmth to all who knew him. Beloved son of Corynne Jennifer Montanez and Russell Lee Palmer III, he will be remembered for the light and love he shared each day.
Ivy was beautiful, perfect, and so handsome. He was charismatic and had a very keen skill for telling you exactly what he meant purely off of facial expressions. My son was kind and the brightest light to anyone he decided to share space with. He was an adventurer through and through; not much phased him, not even his rambunctious little sister, as he would just guide her to where he needed her to be, which was out of his way. He adored his big sister, who he continuously cuddled, jumped on, and wrestled with at night. He loved music that had strong voices or a good melody within it. He watched the same movies every day: Elemental, Finding Nemo and Dory, Encanto, Moana, and Coco, which is probably where his love of shoes came from. He always stole one shoe and carried it around, dropping it at any moment to leave a trail for what he took next. He loved to jump, spin, and climb with no fear. He loved to have his dad lift and balance him up in the air like a gymnast, and at times, toss him into his bed as he would just be laughing away. He knew which weekends were his to spend with his Yaya and wouldn't want to leave if we came to pick him up too early. He had a special love for his Nana and his uncles since he was a baby, and he even made his appearance in this world early so his auntie could be right there. And although he gave his Abuelo a hard time, he always wanted to melt into him to be his stinky butt. He was also very goofy, and his laughing fits were contagious—a giggle of pure joy. He didn't have to say a word to you because you could look into those big brown eyes and know how much he loved you.
Ivy is survived by his devoted parents; his brave and courageous sisters, Haven Rayne Jackson and Eve Rynnlee Palmer; his maternal grandparents, Carmen Vazquez and Angel Montanez-Marquez; and his paternal grandparents, Demetria Johnson and Russell Lee Palmer Jr. He will be remembered for his bright smile, gentle spirit, and the joy he gave his family every day.
