James Thomas Evans “JT” was born August 4, 1946 to the parentage of JD Evans and Asa Lee Evans in Royce City, Texas. JT is the third of eight siblings. He attended HS Thompson Elementary School and Lincoln High School in Dallas, Texas. After his parents relocated to Morris County in 1963 he graduated from J.J. Rhodes High School in Daingerfield, Texas. He was very active in sports.
James was employed at Bill Henderson Manufacturer, where he worked for numerous years. He retired in 2008.
James loved to draw and work on cars from his youth until his health failed him.
James confessed his faith in Christ at an early age. He joined the Morning Star Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, under the leadership of Rev. H.D. Gill. After moving to Cason, Texas, the family later joined Shady Grove Christian Church, under the leadership of Reverend AO Searcy.
He met and married Gale Boyd Evans and to their union they were blessed with three handsome sons. Jamie, Greg and Christopher.
Years later he met and married Pamela Cherry Evans. The Lord blessed them, with one amazing beautiful daughter Lucinda Evans.
James is preceded in death by his father JD Evans and mother Asa Lee Evans-Davis, son; Christopher Evans, brother; Willie Lee Evans, and sister Gladys Evans – Smith.
He leaves to cherish his memories two sons; Greg and Jamie Evans, one daughter; Lucinda Evans, three grandchildren; Lakeidra Evans, Jordan Evans and Trazondria Moore-Evans, one great grandchild; Torre of Lake, Norwood, four sisters; Pearlie Webb, Pearlie Mae Jackson (James) and Elizabeth Evans all of Dallas, Texas, Margaret Boyd, of Cason, Texas and one brother; Donald Evans (Carolyn) of Greenville, Texas and a host of nieces nephews and friends.
