The Celebration of Life of Jo Ann Wright
Born on September 30, 1938, in Cass County, Texas, JoAnn Wright, affectionately known as "Jo Baby," was a devout member and usher at Jones Hill COGIC until her health declined. She was a dedicated caregiver in her community, while also raising her seven children and grandchildren in her family home.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her mother, Lessie B Wright, two sisters - Bernice Jean Wright and Frankie Nell King, and brother La Salle Wright. She also mourned the loss of her daughter Sandra Hodge, grandson Desmond Hicks, and great-grandchild Gregory Taylor Jr.
Left to cherish her memory are Roy Wright, Stacy (Quincy) Henderson, Senita Wright, Francine (Clent) Henderson, Theretha (Tony) Johnson, Detrick Wright, twelve grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and cousins.
Throughout her life, JoAnn cultivated many friendships, but shared a special bond with Gloria Faye Evans, Ruby Lockett, Jewel Smith, Cleadus Cooper, Deloris Heard, and Rose King.
The family expresses their deepest gratitude to those who provided round-the-clock care until JoAnn's passing, including Stacy Henderson, Senita Wright, Francine Henderson, and NaKiesha Gardner.
