Joan Carol Thomas

Joan Carol Thomas (Collier) was born in Carthage, Tx to the parentage of Chester and Mattie Lillian Collier.
 

She attended school in the Longview Independent School District in her early years. Joan Carol worked and received her Nurse Aid Certification working for Holiday Lodge Nursing Home in Longview for many years till she was no longer able to work.

Her favorite pass time hobby was going to Bingo she loved the game. She also enjoyed spending time with her grands and great grandchildren.

She is proceeded in death by both parents, daughter Shemeka Collier, great grandson Zia and BakariWilliams, sister Alice George, Earlene Collier, and Margaret Wilson, Barbara Rose, Betty Collier and her brothers Chester Collier Jr, Oliver Collier, Darrie Turner. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her brothers Rufus Collier (Carmela) and MichaelCollier (Lisa) and a sister Charlotte Sams (Jesus Son), her daughter Lakeysa Buchanan of Fort Worth, TX and ContriceCollier of Dalla,s Tx and a only son EmmanuelBuchanan(Monica)of Longview, Tx. Grandchildren RokeydranaNelson, Tariq Williams, Tavian Robertson, Xavior Shaw, LaTayia Buchanan, Journey Ford, Iysess and Myasia. She was blessed with 6 great granddaughters and 2 great grandsons. A special niece/caregiver Kendallyn Carter and her special love Curtis Black Sr and a host of niece, and nephew in which she loved.
