Johnny Leon Davidson Jr., 67, of Overton, Texas, passed away on April 6, 2026.
Born on October 10, 1958, in Overton, Texas, Johnny was the beloved son of Clauselle Johnston and Johnny “JL” Davidson Sr.
Johnny was a proud Texan with a deep love for sports, especially college basketball, and he was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys. His passion for the game and loyalty to his team were just a few of the many things that brought him joy throughout his life.
He dedicated 21 years of honorable service to his community as a Lieutenant with the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office. Johnny carried out his duties with integrity, strength, and a deep sense of responsibility, earning the respect of colleagues and community members alike.
Above all, Johnny was a devoted father and grandfather. He was a superhero in the eyes of his daughter, whom he loved dearly, and a strong mentor to his son. As “Papa D,” he held a special place in the hearts of his grandchildren, always offering love, guidance, and unforgettable moments.
Johnny will be remembered as a loyal friend with a kind heart and a generous spirit. He valued those who stood by him and built lasting friendships that meant the world to him. His one-of-a-kind personality will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his daughter, son, grandchildren, and loving friends who will forever cherish his memory.
