LaRonda Marie Thorn

LaRonda Marie Thorn, aged 56, was born on December 13, 1967, in Gilmer, Texas, to Roy Lee Armstrong and JoAnn Crowe. On June 3, 2024, her spirit left her body in Longview, Texas.

During her early years, LaRonda actively participated in church activities and became a valued member of Lake Providence Baptist Church in Gilmer, Texas. She graduated from Gilmer High School in 1986 and pursued further education at Kilgore College. Known for her dedication, she excelled in various management roles and consumer services positions.

LaRonda was blessed with a son, Tre'Shawn Stansell, and later expanded her family by welcoming her partner Kenneth Pickron and their children - RoShonda, Ashley, Tonia, Kenyada, Myquilla, Dequandria, and Ledarian.

She is survived by her siblings Joe Armstrong, Shelia (Dale) Faulks, Kelven Armstrong, Lonnie Pickron, as well as numerous relatives, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom will forever hold dear memories of her. LaRonda cherished her family and was known for her unwavering love and support.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Lee and JoAnn Armstrong, and her maternal grandparents, Rev. C.H. and Mozell Crowe, as well as her paternal grandparents, Marvin and Noble Armstrong.

A memorial service in her honor will take place on June 14, 2024, at 12 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, located at 1105 El Paso Street, Longview, Texas 75602.
