On October 17, 1985, a shining star was born in Longview, Texas, to the proud parents Qwendolyn and Richard Robertson. On June 29, 2024, it was time for God to call His beloved child home to be by His side.
LaToya's educational journey began in Longview, where she attended Foster Middle School as a proud Dragon and later stood out as a Lady Lobo. It was during her middle school days that she discovered her love for sports, particularly basketball and volleyball, which soon became her passions. Throughout her high school career, she excelled in both sports, earning herself a scholarship, both academic and athletic, to Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, LA. At the university, Toya dedicated four years to playing volleyball before graduating and accepting a position at Special Health and Resources in Longview. It wasn't long before she found her passion for criminal justice and excepted a role with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, serving as a parole officer and supervisor. In 2014, Toya made the decision to further her education and enrolled at LeTourneau University, achieving a proud moment in 2016 when she received her master's degree.
Family meant everything to her, especially her parents whom she spoke to daily. Her siblings brought her immense joy, and when they gathered, laughter filled the air, creating unforgettable moments of entertainment. To her beloved siblings, Bucc, Jana, BoBo, she loved you with her all. Ja, and Brandon, she loved you both, as she expressed “those are my babies.” She took great pride in her family, both the Anthonys and Robertsons, often declaring, "That's my family - Anthony Strong.”
Her close circle of friends, including Bre, Nick, Pig, Charlotte, and Necy, brought her immense joy during conference calls and girls' nights. The bond they shared was a true friendship and sisterhood that she held sacred. To all the friends she met along her journey, every moment spent with them was cherished.
LaToya was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ed (Irene) Anthony, Uncle Charles Anthony, Aunts; Yvonne Hunter, Barbara Ingram, and Rosie Robertson, as well as cousins Victor Anthony, Donald Kenny, and Oscar Ingram.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory Davin Jeffery of Longview, Texas, her parents Gwen and Richard Robertson of Longview, Texas, her siblings Richard (Felicia) Robertson Jr., Jana Robertson, Reginald Robertson, Jeremy Anthony, Dale Anthony, and Quentin Williams, grandmother Dorothy Horton and grandfather Oscar Robertson, nephew Javion Wilson and Brandon Washington, along with many cousins, and a host of family and friends.
