Mr. Leon Lafayette was born to the parentage of Mr. Willie Lafayette and Mrs. Georgia Lafayette in Morris County.
He attended JJ Rhodes High School in Daingerfield, Texas and graduated from Daingerfield in 1969. Upon graduation Leon was an avid athlete in track, football and basketball, he won many metals.
After completion, he went to work at Lone Star Steel.
Leon attended Shady Grove Baptist Church.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents; Mr. Willie Lafayette ‘Daddy Cowboy’ and Mrs. Georgia Lafayette ‘Mama Georgie’, two sisters; Mary Sharp and Thelma Weeks and three brothers; Robert Lafayette, M.C Lafayette and Willie George Lafayette.
He leaves to cherish one son Chris Lafayette (Shelita), two daughters; Carolyn Hurndon and Ssereta Ddeon Lafayette, one brother; Joe Lafayette and one sister; Alma Lafayette, six grand children; Christina Lafayette, Chrystal Lafayette, Jaiden Hawkins, Shondalyn Eason, Devontrey Bone, James Hurndon Jr., five great grandchildren; Skylar Lafayette, Spencer Jones, Zoe Eason, Parrish Eason, Kimoni Omoware.
