In Loving memory of Melissa MaShon Starks-Kelly
With heavy hearts but grateful spirits, we remember Melissa MaShon Starks Kelly, a bright, loving soul whose warmth and energy touched everyone she met. Born in Overton, Texas, to Alfred Jr. and Jules Butler Starks, Melissa carried the kindness of her family and the strength of her roots throughout her life.
A proud graduate of West Rusk High School, Melissa pursued her passion for helping others at Kilgore College, where she became a certified Activity Director. She later married Norris Kelly, with whom she shared seven years of companionship and love.
Melissa’s presence was vibrant and joyful: a woman who celebrated life through devotion to her children, delight in her grandchildren, and loyalty to family and friends. She is remembered for her bright smile, compassionate spirit, and the warmth she gave freely to others.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Anna and Clarence Butler and Alfred and Jimmie Starks.
Melissa’s memory will be lovingly carried forward by her husband; her five children — Christopher Harris Jr., LaTricia Alece Harris, Taylor Breonne Harris, Tristan Terrell Taylor, and Jordan Eric Taylor; her devoted mother; siblings Chris, Corey, and LaTricia Starks; her grandchildren Arianna Watkins, Ivoree Kay Taylor, Jayden Heidelberg, and Diori Lanae Gip1son; and a large circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.
