Patience Timmons

Patience Delouise Merrill – Timmons, was born on December 13, 1958 in Gladewater, Texas. She was the first born of five siblings.

She attended Gladewater public schools and later received her GED. She pursued a career in cosmetology at Star College in Longview, Texas and received her license to become a beautician.

Patience also pursued a career in the medical field where she received her CNA certification.

She also enrolled at Bish Methodist Institute in Longview, Texas for business administration.

Patience loved to help people when ever she could; especially her elders. She was a very patient person with a caring and humble spirit.

Patience married at the young age of 16 years old to the late Michael D. Timmons of Gladewater, Texas, from this union one daughter was born. The two later remarried in 2004 until Mr. Timmons preceded her in death in November, 2017.

Patience accepted Christ at an early age. She visited several churches in her lifetime and was a true believer in God's Word and virtuous woman with a lot of faith.

Patience went home to be with the Lord on September 20, 2023 peacefully while at home.

She was preceded in death by her mother Mary L. Tatum, her two brothers; Corneous Tatum and Robert Tatum Jr., and one sister; Debbie Tatum.

Patience leaves to cherish her memories; her father H. L. Choice of Lindale, Texas, one uncle; Billy Merril of Gladewater, Texas, two brothers; Donald R. Tatum of Longview, Texas, and Joseph Merrill – Ford of Longview, Texas, two daughters; Lameshia Merrill of Lindale, Texas, and Laquitta Merrill – Allen (Ronnie) of Longview, Texas, two sons; the Decorian Merrill of Longview, Texas, and Kovien Owens of Lindale, Texas, 10 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews relatives and friends.
