Perry Harmon

Perry Lewis Harmon was born on March 14, 1963, in Chandler, Texas, to the late Susie Harmon and the late Ellis Johnson. He attended Brownsboro Independent School District, where he was an active member of the Future Farmers of America (FFA).

Perry Lewis Harmon accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age and continued to affirm and live out his faith throughout his life. His relationship with God served as a source of strength, guidance, and comfort, and his faith was reflected in the kindness, generosity, and love he showed to others each day.

Perry's first job was working on a ranch, caring for horses for many years. His strong work ethic and dedication led him to a career with Tyler Pipe Inc. in Tyler, Texas, where he worked faithfully for 17 years. He later joined Amalgamated Management in Dallas, Texas, where he managed multiple properties for 26 years. Throughout his career, Perry earned high rankings, recognition, and appreciation for his exceptional leadership, hard work, and commitment.

Perry had a deep love for the outdoors and a lifelong passion for horses and livestock. Blaze was the first of many horses he owned over the years, followed by others that he purchased, raised, and trained with pride and dedication. Rooster, a beautiful gray horse and Perry's final horse, shared a special bond with him, often neighing and trotting happily whenever Perry was near. Perry enjoyed roping calves, horseback riding, woodworking, and drawing. He approached each hobby with enthusiasm and talent.

Above all, Perry treasured spending time with his family and friends. One of the greatest blessings of his life was his relationship with his beloved wife, Vera. Perry and Vera first met when they were just 11 years old. They grew up together, became close friends during their high school years, and remained connected through the years. What began as a childhood friendship eventually blossomed into a lifelong love story. Together, they shared 25 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, devotion, and countless cherished memories. Perry loved spending time with Vera, and their bond was a testament to the beauty of friendship, faithfulness, and enduring love.

Perry also loved being with his children, granddaughter, siblings, cousins, and lifelong friends. He was known for his kind heart, willingness to help others, words of encouragement, and charming cowboy spirit. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength to those who knew and loved him.

On June 16, 2026, Perry peacefully departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, devotion to family, and unwavering faith. Though he will be greatly missed, his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.

Perry was preceded in death by his mother, Susie Harmon; his father, Ellis Johnson; and his three brothers, Lee A. Harmon, James S. Harmon, and Ridgle L. Harmon.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 25 years, Vera Harmon of Dallas, Texas; his daughters, Vatrece Davis of Dallas, Texas, and Venisha Davis of Dallas, Texas; his son, Trevor Davis of Dallas, Texas; his beloved granddaughter, Courtlynn Mae of Dallas, Texas; his brothers, Arbie Harmon of Chandler, Texas, and Tyron Harmon of Chandler, Texas; his sister, Aretha Harmon of Tyler, Texas; his aunt, Eloise Harmon of Chandler, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.

Perry's legacy of hard work, devotion to family, love for horses, generous spirit, and steadfast faith will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
