S.L. Hawkins was born May 30, 1923 to the parentage of Eunice Blaylock and Gennie Vaden in Cass County, Texas.
Later in life she moved to Naples, Texas.
She attended Carver High School in Naples, Texas. She was a faithful member of N. S. Curry CME Church. She later in life, united with George W Coffey who preceded her in death, along with two children; Tommy, G. Coffey and Helen Coffey.
She was a worker for Golden Feast in Mt. Pleasant and a hotel housekeeper at the Naples Hotel.
She leaves to cherish her memory four children; Sylblene Hawkins, George Richard Coffey, Charlene Hawkins, Burnett (Mike) Coffey, all of Naples, Texas. S.L. was a grandmother of 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren and a whole lot of nieces and nephews who really really loved her, one brother-in-law; Lourenza Coffey of Naples, Texas, sister-in-law; Martha White of Arlington, Texas.
