Elder Thomas Earl Evans “Bubba” peacefully transitioned to eternal rest on March 4,2025 at UT Health Tyler, Texas hospital surrounded by his loving family. Thomas was born in Plain View, Texas on March 19, 1949 the son of Tom Evans and Maurine Smith Taylor.
Thomas graduated from J. J. Rhodes High School, Daingerfield Texas, Class of 1967. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army, in the Vietnam War. After the war, Thomas returned home to begin his employment at Lone Star Steel. Thomas labored for 40 years until he retired August, 2011. He was a faithful member of Shady Grove Christian church, where he served as an elder. His tenure at Shady Grove Christian church he served in other roles which included usher and choir member.
Thomas enjoyed living life. He loved fishing with his sons and family. He enjoyed gardening. He would share his crops especially his greens with his family and friends. He was a major supporter of various community organizations. He was a strong supporter of The Daingerfield Tigers Athletics.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister Annette Taylor and a brother Travis Taylor (Bo). He leaves to cherish his memories four sisters Marie Crowder, Sally Everett (Arthur Ray) Katrine Turner, Elizabeth Taylor. His four sons Jacques D. Evans (Darline), Thomas Ray Evans (Candice English), Roderick Neal (Porsha Goosby), Thomas Earl Evans Jr. and one daughter LaShesta Turner (Clyde). Nine Grandchildren Marquita Evans, Joshua Evans, Champaigne Evans, JaCory Neal, Jalyn Turner, Jordan Turner, Jaden Turner, Elijah “Bubba” Neal, and Takema Darline Evans Four Great- grandchildren Jayla Evans, A’Miya Evans, Marli Evans and Ja’Kaizer Evans and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
