Willie Brown Obituary

Willie Lee Brown,  affectionately known as "Little Buddy," was born June 18, 1933 in Gilmer, TX to the late Beida Carter Brown and Robert Lee Brown. He was was a beloved figure whose life was marked by dedication, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to his family. He received his education at Mt. Enterprise and Valley View School, laying the foundation for a diverse career. Willie worked at Lone Star Steel and ventured into entrepreneurship with his own businesses, including a Conoco Service Station in Kilgore, Texas, the White Swan Cafe in Longview, and the Company Club in Longview. He also contributed to the Eboni Club in Dallas and operated Lynns Place and WB Dirt and Asphalt in Diana, Texas.

Willie was a mild-mannered and caring individual, often seen as the glue that held his family together. He was not only a hardworking man but also an amazing father figure, whose love and support will be deeply missed.

A dedicated member of Lake Providence Baptist Church, he served as a Deacon, reflecting his strong faith and commitment to the community.

Marriage: He was married to Dorothy L. Webb in Gilmer, Texas, and later to Mary Lynn.

Preceded in Death by: His parents, sister Era Scott, brothers Jean Arthur, Beuford, MacArthur, daughter Evelyn Wiley & Peggy, grandfather Martin Brown, grandmother Arlilssa Henderson Brown, grandchildren Da’Tyrick "T-Bone” Wiley, Armesha, along with numerous uncles and aunts.

Survived by: Daughters: Linda Buchanan, Jean A. Davis  Grandchildren: Clarence Jr., Laquetta, Nikii, Derrick, Odell Jr., Shinetra, Breshia, Markeith, Nicolas, Great-Grandchildren: Marce, Jermy, Victoria, Ciallah, Hykiem, Mekisha, Sasha, Anthony, Bradly, Kynlee, Malick, Wykee, Gracie, Jayci, Great-Great-Grandchildren: Layla, Kamora, Sydney, Kyia, Tyson, Thai’Ya, Tiyanna, Wade, Jahkeem, Halo, Anthony Jr., Carmelo, Bonus Children: David Daniels, Curtis Daniels, Kathy Kennedy.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to his grandsons, Odell Jr., Anthony, Hykiem, and Clarence Jr., for their unwavering support and assistance. Willie shared a special bond with his best friend and brother, Herman Brown, who was a constant presence in his life, along with Ronnie Miles.

Willie Lee Brown's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those he loved and who loved him in return.
